How does a mutation in a transcription factor cause glue ear?

“Paul Denny was engaged by me to investigate how mutations in a transcription factor might modulate signalling pathways. He has a blend of insight, intelligence and the uncanny ability to find connections between biological data missed by others. Using our limited understanding of the function of a transcription factor, he was able to generate novel hypotheses by combining public and unpublished data and begin the process of converting that data into knowledge. Paul’s contribution to our work was of immense value, saving us time and effort. He has provided ideas for new directions and found connections that had been overlooked. We would happily re-employ his skills in future.”
